Welcome to Ledger® Support – your trusted source for secure access, troubleshooting, and guidance related to Ledger® hardware wallets and Ledger Live®. In this article, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about Ledger® Login®, how to get started, avoid phishing, and protect your crypto assets with confidence.
Ledger® Login® refers to the secure process of connecting your Ledger hardware wallet—such as the Ledger Nano S Plus® or Ledger Nano X®—to the Ledger Live® application. Unlike traditional online logins, Ledger doesn’t require usernames or passwords. Instead, it relies on a physical device and encrypted communication to authenticate your identity and manage crypto transactions securely.
This process ensures that your private keys never leave the device, keeping your digital assets safe from online threats, phishing, and malware.
To begin using your Ledger wallet and Ledger Live®, follow these steps:
First, download the official Ledger Live® application from the official Ledger website. It’s available for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.
Important: Only download Ledger Live from the official site to avoid counterfeit software or phishing attempts.
Unbox your Ledger device and connect it to your computer or smartphone.
Initialize the device by creating a new wallet or restoring from an existing recovery phrase.
You’ll set a secure PIN and write down your 24-word recovery phrase. Never share this phrase with anyone.
Open Ledger Live® and choose “Get Started.”
Connect your Ledger wallet via USB or Bluetooth (Nano X only).
Select your device model and follow the on-screen instructions.
Approve the connection on your Ledger device.
Once authenticated, you can add accounts for Bitcoin, Ethereum, or any supported assets.
Check balances, send/receive crypto, or use third-party apps through Ledger Live®.
That’s it! You’re securely logged in and ready to manage your portfolio.
Sometimes, users face issues during the Ledger® Login® process. Here are a few common ones and how to resolve them:
Ensure you're using an official USB cable.
Try different USB ports or reboot your PC.
Make sure Ledger Live is up to date.
After 3 incorrect PIN entries, your Ledger device will reset for security.
You can recover access by entering your 24-word recovery phrase.
Disconnect and reconnect your device.
Open the “Settings” > “Security” > “Device lock” options on your device.
Ledger® will never ask for your 24-word recovery phrase or personal login details by email, phone, or website. Always double-check URLs before entering sensitive information.
Tips for safe use:
Bookmark the official site and avoid clicking unknown links.
Use the Ledger Live® app only from verified sources.
Do not interact with pop-ups or fake tech support messages online.
Enable "blind signing" only if you fully trust the dApp.
If you lose your Ledger device or it gets damaged, don’t panic. You can recover your assets using your 24-word recovery phrase on a new Ledger device or a compatible wallet. As long as you’ve stored the phrase safely (offline and never on a cloud), your assets remain secure.
If you think your recovery phrase may have been compromised, transfer your funds to a new wallet with a new recovery phrase immediately.
